Bud, relax. You’ll be fine, analysts are the safest. If it does happen one day, you’re a young, qualified, and capable person. You would have absolutely no trouble getting another gig! Chill out homie!
Always be looking for your next role. Not because you're afraid of getting the axe, but because you should know what opportunities are available to you.
Don’t focus on being laid off. Just focus on what you can control. If you do good work and are still laid off then it happens, but worrying about being laid off could negatively affect your work
I think I do good work and try my best but it’s obviously out of my hands if the axe hits me. Asking as I’m hitting the bench and nothing is selling
What lay off? The economy is very strong
For real? Sorry about it
If you think you’re doing good work, you shouldn’t worry about layoffs. Remember you’re not alone in your insecurities. If your company doesn’t have high bench tolerance, I would suggest to start applying for roles in other firms. Be more confident in your own strengths. Best of luck and I’m sure you’ll do great
There’s been rumors of Analysts being laid off too. I’m beyond shook right now. I’ve been on the bench for 4 weeks now and nothing in my OP is selling. I’ve just been working on internal initiatives and applying for other jobs so if it hits me at least I have something come through....
Keep your resume and LinkedIn up to date and your contact network active. Pad your bank account as much as you can. At your career level, finding another gig should be a piece of cake as you’re not too entrenched in a role or career path yet. All of that said, I’m crossing fingers for ya - it’s happened to me a couple of times with zero warning and it’s tough when it’s you, but you’ll get through it!
