A small agency hired me to design a logo for a pharma client’s sales event, C² (2 is superscripted). The brief was clear: the identity should convey momentum, innovation, collaboration, leadership, growth, and confidence. I developed concepts that reflected those qualities. The agency instead selected designs that were far more literal—a “C” in a circle, a “C” in a speech bubble, and similar ideas. I don’t get how work so disconnected from the brief was considered ok to present to the client.

Is it possible to take certain files with you when leaving? Is this monitored, always or focused on the end of your tenure? I’m not talking client data but maybe doc templates or certain slide decks or program code like a VBA macro.

I joined a project that had already started and the team already settled on creating a user journey map, even though none of them are designers or in ux. I also have no experience in this field as I'm a data engineer. The user journey map was for mapping out the process for tenants finding housing assistance, so not a technical product.
