Bain & Company Hello Fishes.
What is the average CTC offered for a Research Associate with 1 year of experience in Healthcare consulting?
I'm looking forward for opportunities, hence would be great to know the current CTC trends to effectively negotiate with the employer.
Thanks in advance!

I’m fine with the regional model. My industry has a lot of roles in my region, so it hasn’t been an issue. I’d check where the big players are in your industry to see if this applies to you as well.
For per diem, how do you like to eat now when you travel? If you don’t mind mostly fast casual, perhaps one or two nice meals per week, then you’ll be fine with the per diem. But if you prefer a nice meal every night that you always expense, then you won’t like per diem. It tends to be around $45-60 per day in most cities.
Per diem is fixed per city - as high as $52 per day in NYC and SF to as low as $33 per day in Arkansas. You get paid for all travel day meals (typically Monday to Thursday breakfast, lunch, and dinner) that are not otherwise paid for by a team event/dinner. You get to keep whatever you don't spend as extra cash in your pocket. Some clients have other arrangements but that's rare.
Regional model varies from one group to another. Campus analysts are the most strictly staffed within region based on the theory that they're still learning. It gets easier to travel after 1-2 years but again it highly depends on the group and where their clients are. Some groups are highly regionally concentrated (e.g. financial services in NYC/East Coast) compared to others. What group are you joining and what region?
My experience has been that the regional model basically only applies to the Analyst / Senior Analyst levels
