Advice for nailing two separate 30 minute final round in house interviews an hour apart? Made it through 4 rounds for two different roles and now just have to make it through these last two interviews with the GC and CLO for each respective company. Any tips to seal the deal?

For the past few months of interviewing have made it to the final round with a few firms, and the feedback is similar, ‘I’m a great candidate, but it’s not the right time’ Is this code for something? Am I missing something?

Have you thought about why PM interview experience is totally different than the actual PM job ? PM interview goes typically with current domain, design xyz for abc, guesstimate; whereas in actual job you have ‘n’ no. of constraints to build, leadership priority , sufficient time to think etc. What are your thoughts?

Which biglaw corporate practices are most attractive for in house? Currently do a mix of ECVC and M&A and looking to focus on the former but don’t want to close any doors down the line.

I’ve been practicing in both big law (many yrs ago) and now in-house for over 10 years. Quite often I struggle because I don’t find work fulfilling. I’ve been in industries that allegedly have greater cause (healthcare) but was eventually disappointed by the corporate bureaucracy and went to a cutting-edge tech company for intellectual stimulation. I work with great people. Really can’t say anything bad about my firm in general either. But…I still dislike the entire premise of law firm life, the billable hour, etc.. I’d love to work in a law school setting as a counselor or something but I can’t afford the pay cut. *sigh* Does anyone feel like being a lawyer is just doing homework all day? First world problems I suppose. I’m very thankful to have a job ❤️
