Advice on getting into Big 4 forensics? I used to work in audit at PwC then moved to a small firm to work in forensics specializing in family law litigation. I don’t have experience in the type of forensic accounting that big 4 does though… does that matter?

No just apply. Message me if you want a referral to EY forensics. I am in the forensics I&C group.

I’d love to get a referral to EY forensics if possible.

I second EY1, start applying and interviewing. You'll get there!

I would just apply/network. If you’re not having much luck look at some middle market firms first and then jump later. Big 4 is less specialized, not more, so you shouldn’t need super specific experience, just the right connections/credentials

A lot of forensics at B4 is investigations, compliance, and claims. Make sure you get an understanding of what you would be working on and that you'd like it before you go B4 forensics (just my suggestion). If you like litigation/damages/etc type work (assuming not just divorce), you may want to explore other firms.

What EY1 said

Unless you want to spend your time doing AML and insurance claims work, stay away from B4 (especially EY).

PwC does very little of that. Just saying.

Is there such place as non toxic ID firm? Or does any of ID attys like what they do? I moved from general practice to an ID firm six months ago. Biggest mistake of my life. I am trying hard not to just quit and walk away as I’m battling head cold but still have to bill bill bill and get criticized for not billing right and etc and cases being piled up - while everyone is looking forward to the long weekend. I seriously question my judgement. Need word of wisdom just to get through this hellhole

I am prior military and went to law school. I had a family to take care of while I was a student, hence I went as fast as possible to get to a paycheck, graduating in 2 years, and bypassing the standard summer clerkships. How could I get some experience strictly remote? I am w-2 working as an accountant in healthcare, have passed the bar and am working on my CPA license (studying starts at 3 am, then work FT). I would like to eventually hang a shingle as a tax lawyer, but need experience. TIA!

For those of you who made the switch to in house/corporate law, what was your experience like? Did you have to take a lower position to gain the experience or were you able to argue that your soft skills were transferable to in house? I’ve been in litigation for 15 years and I’m looking to make the switch. Ultimately, I’d like to get into Legal Ops, but feel getting some in house experience first would be beneficial.
