Not much to explore? That’s interesting. I’ve been in the defense industry for 20 years, including 10 with Lockheed, and I’m finding more and more to learn as I go.
That said, I’m not pure technical any more either. I’ve found that down in the weeds Technical implementation isn’t enough; I need more breadth of scope than that typically allows. Do you have any opportunity to step into more of a CTO or consulting role? The breadth of knowledge required, paired with interactions with senior leadership, technical teams, customers, vendors, and partners, uses the people skills you reference in a balanced way while drawing upon the industry expertise you’ve built over your 20+ year career.
I’m just not finding many opportunities. There’s not much to explore within LM at least when I’ve looked the few times that I have. There’s always opportunities to learn but I guess I’m just looking for areas I can help. CTO sounds great! I’m going to continue to learn and look around :) thank you for your feedback
Lockheed is a huge company. I have seen their job listings and it much more than just technology.
