How true is it?

How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.

^ if it is an operational role at the MDR provider and that’s what you’re looking for, it will be extremely similar and likely more advanced, then what most internal SOCs are doing and will be great “front line” experience. Although if the recruiter made you feel like that, it is certainly concerning.
The MDR recruiter made you feel like that? How so?

I think that’s a backwards move... If you’re interested in learning more I’d swap to becoming a security analyst/engineer if you’re somewhat technical or a Security GRC analyst if you’re non-tech. Working at a company and doing the day to day operations can teach you a lot.
Okay and what's your understanding of working in mdr versus being a security analyst?
