Not for you, M1.
You don’t seem like a culture fit.
Consulting doesn’t give a fuck about your experience, you get paid the band of your level. Go to industry
Partner 1: You probably know better. But OP’s hourly wage comes to $53.84/ hr. A conservative bill rate of $220/hr is 4 times more than OP’s hourly wage. The higher end bill rate is 5.3 times higher than OP’s hourly wage.
Here’s what my firm goes by: After factoring in cost of doing business, one’s bill rate should be 2x to 3x the hourly wage.
Data point: My bill rate is $250-$280 per hour and I make $135k base.
OP, please hustle and go to an employer that values you.
C1- thank you. I think I will
C1- can you reach out throwSecForFish@gmail.com ? Thanks!
Yes. Go get yo’ cash
B1-thanks but I don’t feel 112 is really.. getting my cash 😞. Should I shut up and be thankful?
Wait lol I meant no.. edit** no, get yo cash
Lol. Thanks for the clarification. That’s what I thought you meant.
M1- you make little sense and your feedback is worthless. I guess the band is a number that’s pulled from Willy wonkas chocolate factory.
Hahah sorry u disagree. But there’s a reason why the security consultant with 5 years experience makes the same as you.
Dude, that’s very low. You could easily make 3-4x at the right firm if you have good credentials. I work with a guy who is making $800k with similar credentials. But his pedigree is bs in CS from carnegie mellon with Stanford MBA and experience at NSA.
But he’s prob a partner or equivalent. U have to do the job of senior leadership to make senior leadership Money. Sorry OP, but according to the firm, you are paid appropriately. U should try and leave for a promo.
At first glance, yes, you are undercompensated. What market are you in?
Also, don’t forget, the firm pays you based on what you can be charged at for your level. If anything, youre simply underemployed. That’s why I said, go to industry, most companies will bring u on years of experience. In consulting u can come from industry with 10 years experience, but be offered 120k at consultant level bc u dont have the “right” client facing experience, or no management experience. In industry I’ve seen experienced professionals make jumps to Manager/director level bc they have the years of experience and obviously speak well to what’s on their resume.
M1-thank you for the clarification. That makes sense and I will evaluate myself to see if this is the improvement needed.
K1- I’m in a high demand market just below, say NY.
My bill rates are average $220 as high as $280 an hour.
Based on your billing rate, you are paid fairly.
OP, you are doing all the right things, from delivery to biz dev.
Do you have a Master’s degree?
I can refer you to BCG Platinion if you’d like.
Hey C1, mind dropping a burner? Would love to hear about your experience with that group.
C1- just saw your offer. No Masters
