Am I the only person who finds it infuriating to see LinkedIn posts of expats moving to the US for new roles when there are people already here desperately seeking employment including expats that have been laid off. I m all for international recruitment in normal circumstances but now? Really? You couldn’t hire locally?

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. laying off 1250 people and forcing everyone who didnt get laid off to make a post "offering support" doesnt make it better that you failed to plan appropriately and view your employees as dispensable when the going gets rough.

Dont buy into the propaganda these tech firms are putting out. And dont be that person with stockholm syndrome thanking your employer for a "great experience" when they threw you to the wolves as soon as it suited them.

A friend of mine from a top tier consulting firm was counseled out. Do you consider it ethical that his career counselor is intentially spreading the information to his colleagues and to other consultants from other companies in the project? What can he do about it? Specially that he considers the potential layoff is purely based on the current situation (chargeability was low) and not on his performance (they said that his contribution to BD during his bench time was low)?

Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .

Having the clients love an idea you had to fight to present is a bittersweet win- you feel validated, but also wish your team backed you from the start...anyone else experience this?

Does anyone else feel like people who are generally nice in person and on calls sound mean or stand-offish in emails and text/chat? I get that over-use of friendliness in text can come off as green/immature, but I tend to try and cushion my words with positivity or even exclamation marks/the occasional emoji to show that I don't sound completely unemotional.

Or maybe i'm just an overthinking copywriter who's reading into it too much.
