Ex PwC here, was rated tier 1 but still left. My take is that there is no “no asshole” policy. Too many people with type A personality who would stab you in the back
I am looking and $1k is not even close when I am currently in discussions for a 40% salary bump.
EY1, it comes down to a new guard of leadership solely focused on the bottom line with no tangible vision forward for the firm
Everyone i know is working non stop and there has been a crazy amount of stress and stretched way too thin right now. The firm is doing very well so they are trying to keep people.
Firm is doing really well so everyone is stretched very thin. Shame that they think the answer is to mass hire people instead of just hiring modestly and rewarding us with higher pay.
What IS pwcs problem with retention anyway? Seems like half my team is ex pwc and they are usually very strong performers.
There was an associate, who passed out in the hallway and people had to call 911 at PwC.
Took that bonus and left...so much happier

You are not wrong. Retention is one of many issues, and this 1k bonus is likely one of many strategies to address those challenges.
