Hi fishes,
How is the wlb in Amex?
Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.

I still need that sixth figure. July hopefully.
My long hours are a direct result of inefficiency and not because of how much shit I have to do
I love to moan
6 figures isn't what it used to be though. Did some research yesterday. $100k now is like...$85k 7-10 years ago I would say. It's impressive, generally, but not as it used to be.
@Accenture 1 Yes, everyone is aware of inflation.
We work hard and play hard. Nothing is free! I blew about 159 bucks drinking last night. DGAF.
I don't know yet. But I loved the feeling when I quit working two jobs that paid minimum wage in grad school and got a six figure salary job. I love those six figures. One day I want to make it seven.
It's not but I find it interesting that white collar jobs now involve working more hours. Seems to make sense -- but I would've preferred it the other way.
I blame computers for efficiency even mattering.
Professional athlete. YouTube personality. Oh, and the obvious programmers at top companies. Was semi kidding about the first two.
Programmers at top companies also work nights and weekends, maybe not with the same frequency as consulting but, just like consulting, the hours differ from group to group. My husband is in that field.

I-Bankers are more successful than consultants, and generally more talented
@Deloitte3: How are they more talented and how do you conclude?
