At the D we get to pick any two of the following three;
- career growth
- social life / exercise
- sleep
Pro
Yes. I have three children I go to bed at 10, wake up at 5:30 and exercise every morning for 30 minutes then make my kids breakfast and shower and hop on my laptop at 6:30.
Routine is important also there are books on sleep that can help you to manage that.
Also I am a morning person so I can’t workout past 8pm. If your a night owl do the opposite.
Pro
I mean last week I put in 60 hours. But no I meant I can’t workout 🏋️♀️ past 8pm.
I go to bed around 11 or midnight. If I wake up early enough, I workout before logging in at 9. Most of the time, I sleep in til 8 then workout at 530/6pm. I work more after dinner as needed.
Chief
Work from home, and I have kids so I don’t work after 5. I go to bed at like 1am and sleep until work starts. At lunch break I do heavy yard work for an hour or so, which is the equivalent of a work out

Yes similar to A1.
During the week:
- Sleep by 1030 (typically screens off around 930 unless absolutely required)
- Wakeup at 5-530.
- 530-930: Do my emails/self work/some side hustles
- 930 - 530: Meetings / Calls / Collab work etc.
- 530-630: Workout
- 630 - 8: Cook / Eat etc.
8-930: Work if required or meet local friends. Can also flex to dinner.
Things go awry on sat / sun but ive stopped drinking to get drunk and that keeps me productive those days as well.
Obviously this is my perfect schedule and things move around.
But generally can stick to it with some planning and level setting. Ive told my teams that I am a morning person.
My teams know im willing to be flexible but are respectful of my work hours (since I get shit done - sorry not humble)
Not really losing any weight but it makes me feel better when I get on my exercise bike in the morning. I am WFH so it makes it easy to get the cardio in. My husband takes our kid to school so I usually hop on while he does that so there are no distractions. I go to bed at 1030-11.
