I worked as a manager for several years on analytics teams and genuinely enjoyed the coaching/mentoring aspects of the job. I miss that as I’ve transitioned to a more individual contributor data scientist role. I cleared LTI all rounds and in HR discussion we came on mutual agreement for 16lpa .I have 7 years of experience and they gave me Specialist - Data Engineering(P3) role. And we agreed I will join with after 60 as I had to serve 60 days notice period. I was waiting for offer letter and when I received the offer letter I was shocked to see that CTC mentioned was 14LPA and joining date was only 15days from now ,which is way early.

A quick note about what I’ve experienced, in my decade long career, is the real advantage of MBB or FAANG - it gives you a shot at stretch roles that are outside your expertise. Not all the time or even most of the time compared to better candidates with specific experience for the role but gives you this wildcard shot at a vast array of opportunities.

To those who did Strategy in non-mbb, got their mba, and then joined mbb. Was/is it worth it? Is the work, opportunities, culture, roi really that much better?
