Both are amazing offices, great culture, super busy right now. Biglaw but with good, decent people, and top notch work. I don’t think it gets much better especially in the LA market. Everyone else is either smaller potatoes or if they are v10 they are way more intense (and we get paid the same...)
Cooley has been cruising up the rankings too, v24 now, there’s a reason. Profits growing, no layoffs, fortune ranked top 100 best place to work... I would consider it a great place to land if you get an offer.
Workload is intense to be clear, but... it’s hard to describe, it’s just more bearable when the people are great and actually care if you need a favor, time off, or something else is pressing in your personal life.
Bump. Any additional thoughts? Anyone?
Not in those two offices but the firm’s corporate practice is crushed with work. Be ready to bill 220+, but agree with AA1 that culture firmwide has been great. I’m a half-decent junior and I’ve never been yelled at for screwing up or treated badly.
I’ve worked with a couple m&a associates in the Denver office, all seem like normal people to me. Can’t speak to their hours, but feels like we’re swamped firmwide. The Denver and Seattle offices do give off satellite office vibes since we don’t hear much from them. The CA offices, DC and NYC are more actively working on deals together.
