I’m a tester at my firm for Harvey.ai and CoCounsel (another legal AI platform). I haven’t used Harvey much, but CoCounsel is definitely better than ChatGPT although still has a ways to go. CoCounsel generated a nuanced legal memo that was factually accurate and cited real cases. It can also query databases and tell you what’s market, generate summaries across databases of filings, etc. My firm is having summers test the AI to see whether/how results differ from work done by traditional research methods.

Thanks A1! I would be very curious if you learn any more as you continue to play with them. I’m also jealous that I don’t have access yet…

Tested Harvey for a few weeks earlier this year and it wasn't great. Seriously overhyped and not ready for serious use.

Surprised that A&O agreed to deploy it so early, but the Harvey team did a great job building inroads at various BigLaw firms. So, kudos to them.

I’m also very curious if you could share more. From the admittedly tiny sample size on this thread, sounds like co-pilot might be the better legal LLM? Tbh when i saw A&O + PNC testing + Sequoia leading their Series A (with OpenAI as an investor as well), I figured they would have a stronger product…

A2, curious if you would elaborate? 🙏

Any other feedback? My company is looking for solutions in this space

AA yeah I know an investor at a firm that was part of the financing and they were really impressed. Although don’t know how many of these VCs had actual lawyers, in house or not, test it. A 150M pm during April of this year…pretty wild

I understand this might sound a little snobby but I'm not trying for it to come off that way. I've been around impressive people throughout my adult life. T-14 and big law have placed me in the company of some really accomplished individuals. It likely skewed the bar in terms of what I find as impressive.

My girlfriend's sister works at a Fortune 500 company and views herself as very accomplished. She's not a good person. I also don't find her impressive so I don't particularly try

What kind of feedback do you give as an interviewer at your firm (e.g. qualitative, quantitative, thumbs up, thumbs down, veto)?
