Hi fellow creatives! I’m looking for any and all kinds of creative people to participate in a research study!
www.creativitystudy.com
I’m a creativity researcher working on my dissertation on the psychology & neuroscience of creativity. I’m interested in understanding how different types of creative careers, side hustles, and artistic outlets relate to our emotions, mental health, & well-being. Ultimately to help build awareness, resources, & improve the lives of creative people.

It's going to be an interesting next few years here. The firm's original leadership (it's only 16 years old) will change soon and there's a new crop of leaders coming through.
Culture is pretty relaxed mostly, though there aren't many AD/Ds ...so I'm sure they have more pressure.
Comp range, at an educated guess, might touch 200 base depending on solution
Coming from Big consulting to Protiviti, big step down in terms of the type of work. Comp follows that too bc it’s a ~40ish work week in comparison. AD in this region is hovering 150 with D not far ahead, def not that close to 200 but then maybe some are being lowballed in this region. MD best guess is $225 base, equity for bonus where bonus below MD is cash. Hasn’t been much up or out. Many are just leaving bc environment is trending down. Can’t change old school AA spawn.
Similar to EY or PwC for up or out. Not deliotte, Accenture or McKinsey where you get promoted or fired, more like you get managed out for underperforming or not progressing
Not impress from them at all ...yes more laid-back company then Big 4 and probably very kind ...but very weak in execution...and quality . Based on my experience with them
Bonus is around 16% of base at that level, so not amazing. Sales obviously makes up most of that.
I think only MDs get stock, and all of that is in Robert Half, which owns 100% of Pro.
Which firm you are now OP? I would be carful downgrading your brand if you coming from big 4
Thanks guys! I am with deloitte and approached to build their digital practice which is growing rapidly. The advantage I see here is the path to MD which might be quicker compared to Deloitte. But please do weigh in your thoughts.
Its got a great culture, old school Arthur Anderson spawn. Unfortunately the business isn't doing well and many of them have joined us at EY lately. Great people too
Thanks p2! Already the agency is trying to push the role to AD as director requires board approval and process stuff. But again money might be a problem here but agency is very positive on that. Have to see how this all plays out.
I was under the impression that MD is equivalent to MD/ED at big4 but not appears to be the case atleast from comp perspective.
The greatest career chasm is AD/D. Trust that most won’t make it to MD bc of the strife of personal vendettas and old school mentalities that you may be “too young” to be an MD or the fear that you may be added competition at that level. It seems silly, but you should weigh this heavily if you are the go getter and feel as though you should be recognized for efforts and fast tracked for performance. Otherwise if mediocrity of work is your bag...
Depends on solution and location. E.g. risk and compliance in NY is mostly local, but internal audit out of fort Lauderdale is 95% travel. Though there is often some flexibility on remote working.
All depends on the jobs you get put on. There are no guarantees, but compared to big consulting, travel requirements are marginal in comparison it appears. Long projects that last years to short Protiviti ones that last maybe a few months.
Be yourself! Use the opp to meet people and see if you mesh. It’s still a chance for you as much as a chance for Protiviti to see if the fit is right.
Sounds good. Will keep you guys posted :) You guys have very been helpful.
Good luck!
Guys - I met the team onsite early this week (3 MDs). Got a message to meet one more MD later next week. I thought usually decisions are made after onsite interview. Is this normal?
Associate Director
Thanks Fsc1! Nothing finalized and still in research mode :) Any insights around yearly raise %?
Thanks p1! How are the bonus/stock? And MD comparable to non - equity partners (ED /MD) in big 4? Wondering how it works especially for publicly traded firm.
Ey1 - Heard the same from the MD I spoke. Any idea around up or out being followed? It's hard to find based on glassdoor reviews.
