Hi Fishes, I am here to ask your help , i gave an interview to Tata Capital and selected for the position but the HR is not contact me about the salary negotiation or anything. I was called the HR and they said they didn't receive manpower approval. I have hardly 5 days left to join the new organization. What can I do ? Now the hr is not lifting the call as well as the interviewer also not lifting the call.

McKinsey & Company Career advice needed. Thanks in advance. What would be a potential feasible path to make the transition from Big Four assurance role to MBB consulting role? I have 1 year experience in industry as FP&A and couple months as fund accountant before I graduated from school and went to Big four as IT auditor and could switch to core auditor ,cybersecurity or ECG advisory etc. I’ll get the CPA and CFA soon and have some basic coding skillsets. Considering to do MBA/graduate degree if necessary. McKinsey & Company PwC Deloitte

I usually put together a document outlining all of my responses to questions that I may be asked, questions I want to ask them and 3 anecdotes that can easily be molded to various questions (challenge I’ve overcome, how I’ve dealt with difficulty or failure, biggest accomplishment)
I read my responses to questions and practice telling the stories until they become second nature and just refer to the notes during the interview in case I get nervous. Try to get someone else to ask you questions and answer without your notes.

Since we’re all interviewing virtually - put sticky notes around the rim of your computer screen with notes/answers for common prompts.
So I hadn’t interviewed in years (many many many) and I hate to admit it but I completely winged it and killed it. The nerves I used to feel were gone and it could have been bc 1) I started taking interviews to practice and learn, 2) I’d grown more comfortable speaking overtime or 3) virtual interviews made me far less nervous than in person. But start talking to people and companies even if you’re not interested as practice. I found that I was the most natural this way, had great interviews and we liked each other a lot. A few tips tho: I had my resume open, their linked in and took notes. Looking at my resume while talking helped a lot - not to read but as reminders and prompts. The best answers and stories I shared were around how I helped drive integration on a large team and they seemed to care much more about the soft skills vs hard. Good luck!
One of DoCS main jobs is staffing. So if you’re not comfortable interviewing it might not be the role for you yet
