Anybody start their own govt contracting firm here? I see a lot of subs on projects at kpmg that are ran by people with the work experience of a manager and have less than 10 employees. I feel like I could do what they're doing, esp since I have a service connected disability, I could probably live comfortably on small business set asides, but I just don't know where to start. Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified? Taking my shot in tech sales. Consulting was great experience but enjoyed the relationship and BD aspect more and didn’t see myself climbing to partner. Starting in a junior BD Rep role to learn prospecting and earn quota history. Took a big paycut for the potential future earnings as an Account Exec. Did I dun goof? Probably.
