Do Leidos, SAIC, and other mostly-fed consulting businesses pay bonuses to all levels? If so, what does a typical bonus target look like? Booz Allen does not pay bonuses until you get to the Senior Associate level (1 step below Director) and I think that impacts employee performance and work ethic pretty dramatically. I’m wondering if not paying bonuses is common to federal contracting because of how the contracts or priced, or if this is something unique to Booz Allen.

Recently moved into Tech Sales. Frustrated with my Salary (32K base/year, negligible bonus potential of a few K). Was making ~3K/week on average in my previous role which was commission only, no base. Feel like I am completely wasting my time and potential. Saw the cut as necessary evil initially in order to move into tech sales and make multi six figure commissions later on with potential to reach 7 figures in total comp. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients).
