JD only starting about $70k - $85k depending on location. There’s a big4 comp thread on TLS.

Here you go! Looks like some folks are getting up to $100k in HCOL city.

like

I think that 70k is really low for a JD in M&A anywhere. JDs trend at a 15-20k discount to the LLM.

Last year in HCOL but not New York we were going out at like 95k for JDs and $110k for LLM.

From there a JD is looking in the $115-125k range for a senior and $135-160k range at the amanager level

like

Thanks for this. What’s bonus % range (pre-COVID) for a manager?

Edit: as a reference point for others, I’m a JD in another specialty group and went 85k, 95k, 125k. Seems pretty consistent with m&a ranges.

like

5-15% of base depending on exact firm and personal performance. High performers getting a minimum of 10%

I started at $100k as an associate plus a $10k signing bonus. I have a JD but not LLM. When I got promoted to senior they bumped me up to $110k.

I’m not a JD, but my coworker who is LLM started at 127k + 10k sign off bonus for associates in NYM.

Hi All,

I have 4 yrs of exp as full stack developer and my current CTC is 15 lpa and notice period is of 3 months. I got an offer from another firm for 24lpa but they have shared the offer letter of DOJ after 2 months and asked me to negotiate my notice period or look for buyout. What should I do in this case? Should I connect with my current hr to negotiate? Cause I tried convincing the new hr to share the offer letter of DOJ after 3 months but she is not in the favour of that.

Received a verbal offer/commitment from the engineering team 3 weeks after my interview process. Maxed out Roth IRA contributions when I wasn't eligible for 2021 (got a salary bump mid year). Do I need to recharacterize? It's a very small account that's been open for only two years. That's the only IRA account I own. Do I need to open a traditional IRA and roll over 6k + realized gains into that account and keep the Roth IRA. Hey folks, need some help. I cleared all my interview rounds and had completed the documentation too. However for more than two weeks the status on the portal is "offer initiated". The HR says the delay is happening because the people who need to approve are on leave. Are they playing around or keeping on hold? Do they actually release offer after this much delay? Please share if you know anything about it.

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

2. close to ORR (office commutable distance is the key thing for this. We both are working in Hebbal and Banaswadi)
3. Spacious apartment
Please suggest if you know a good apt.

I like my current job, company and public accounting. I know I am being underpaid at $70k as a senior tax associate with 2-3 years of experience as I have talked with my local peers as well as local recruiters. Also, I know outside hires to my company get paid about $5-$10k higher than me, but they don’t get a raise the following year. My question is what is everyone’s experience with company hopping to get a pay bump within public accounting?
