Anybody know anything about the Deloitte layoff rumors?

Hello fellow designers!

I was laid off back in August and I have been trying to get a product/UX/UI job ever since then. With the recession and all of the crazy things that are happening right now it has been even harder.

Is anyone hiring a mid-level Product/UX/UI designer?
I have 3 years of experience as a UX/UI Designer and I am available to start working immediately! (Remote work is preferred since I live in Phoenix, AZ and there are not a lot of tech jobs here)

@PWC is worst company for freshers. They are force innocents to resign by themselves and threating then to not to mail anyone and not share this context to anyone worst company, if layoff means ok removing and threatening to not to disclose to anyone means the have lost every single moral. Don't fall trap in the brand name @PWC.

How is everyone handling layoffs during this time? I assume everyone is starting with a temporary layoff and then severing?

I was recently (in April) fired from a good nursing position that I was at for 5 years. I reached out to my old ADON to get some information on where we had our vaccinations from and she told me that I should come back and the administrator that I had issues with is gone. Is this something I should even consider? I miss my patients and some of my coworkers and the pay is better, but I don't feel like I would really be welcome to come back.

I booked a mat leave coverage that was supposed to run from June-Aug. I got 2 weeks in and resourcing called to say they found an internal resource to cover and they were cancelling my contract immediately. It sucked, but I get it. Obviously cheaper to use internal resources. Anything I can do to to protect myself a bit next time? Is it unheard of to write in some type of severance fee clause? Appreciate any help

Is this new job DOA? I’ve been in my new role 6 weeks after interviewing extensively and getting 5 offers and thinking back on those offers I turned down. While most teachers are protected by teacher unions, I feel my voice hasn’t been heard at all with my concerns of going back to school next week. Our diocese has decided on full return 5 days/ week for all 42 schools despite a recent increase in COVID in our communities. Every other school that I know of in my state is either choosing remote learning to start the year or a hybrid approach, yet that was not an option for us. Are other Catholic schools I. The same boat? Stay safe!

My wife recently put in her two weeks and half the people she worked with are just ignoring her messages. They asked to work longer but bc of her new company she cant. Shes moving for about 60% more pay from external audit to senior accounting. Shes extremely sad and im confused why these firms are so uptight about this. She is giving them an additional 4 days which she wanted to use on vacation. Did she do something wrong?

IFRS question. A long outstanding loan (more than 5 years). Borrower has stopped operations years after loan was issued. Should the loan be fully impaired? If not, how should PD be calculated (can't get equivalent PD of the credit rating since there's no more tenor).

Why did you pick accounting as a major? I picked it because it was a safe choice and I just wanted a decent job after college.
