How do your firms do payroll? This is like the 5th time in 26 months that paychecks weren’t timely deposited. Allegedly, the boss did everything right and this is something in the payroll company. But his stuff is getting crazy and everyone is out on PTO, I’m kinda like: meet minimum ethical obligations and no more. Once or twice, I understand. But this is becoming regular.

Does anyone know any job boards/agencies that focus on legal roles in entertainment (music specifically even better) and/or tech. Entertainment is more important as this is an Artist focused director of legal affairs role. We’re looking in LA but open to NYC. Thanks!!!

Hey Guys, My Joining is in first week of November and my HR yesterday dropped me a mail that I can buy any laptop one month prior to joining as $1100 would be reimbursed, and I called her and asked her can I buy as of today from the ongoing sales and she told that yeah that’s OK you can go ahead.

I applied at this company and last Friday they verified my references. And then 4 days later hiring manager sets up a phone conversation letting me know they still have other finalist they are interviewing and will let me know when t they make a decision. I really wanted this job and now idk if I’ll even get it. But my question, why would she verify my references and not offer me the job!is that normal ? This never happened to me before 😞

Thoughts on leaving the firm for industry job in tax as staff with 1 year experience. My main goal is a better WLB, I want a 40hr week. Will industry jobs provide that for me at relatively the same pay?

If I’m making 65k in my first year of audit, should I jump ship now before I reach senior for a job as a “senior accountant” with 85-95k comp? Or should I wait until I reach senior associate and then jump to the same 90-100k range?

Has anyone made the leap from Corporate accounting/Financial reporting to something more niche like Revenue Reporting? I work in SEC reporting but want to work somewhere more diverse/fast paced/in the saas world and am considering a revenue reporting manager position at a tech company.

More than likely receiving an offer for a more technical position than I’d like in my career. In short, I think it pigeonholes me into a role I’m not comfortable with and have little interest for.

Has anyone interviewed for IRS SBSE (small business self employment) in Southern California-Specifically San Bernardino and Orange County?
