Anyone an administrative business partner @ google and feel like a non stop scheduler? Is that really how admins are utilized at google or is it dependent on the department? The admin team training me say 80% is calendaring the other 10% travel expenses and events

What else would you expect to do?

I been an admin for 12 years in non tech and calendar management was very minimal, my days were more operation work, planning events, meetings, tracking outcomes mesures, processing incoming referrals, delegating with staff, follow ups, im starting to think I’m more an operations something in the tech world 🤔 i mean you tell me? What does it sound like? It was a start up department so i was the first for everything

What is your next goal, post ABP? Try to be more efficient with your calendar juggling so you have time to explore options for your next role and take proactive steps to make yourself a stronger candidate with trainings, certifications, events & marketing, other projects, etc.

Thank you! Is that something i can take at google or online?

What’s the last 10%?

Sorry meant 20% of events expenses travel

For 12 YOE and your responsibilities, your current role sounds more like a step back instead of working towards your career goals.

How does Administrative Business Partner at Google differ from your previous Executive Assistant title? Or Operations Assistant title? Or Admin Assistant? Operations Coordinator? As with any startup/smaller company, you'll be wearing multiple hats and larger companies like Google have more "specialized" roles. I'm not sure what the best title should be for you, but I don't think this Google gig is it.

Your description sounds like what my Head of Operations does though after meeting with her a couple times, however, she specifically does operations/scheduling for the design team. Her official title is Practice Chief of Operations and we're a global investment bank 🤔

Would suggest to look into Project Management or Operations Management.

I agree with you! This isn’t for me! It truly doesn’t feel rewarding or something I’m passionate about needless to say it’s a contact, i just never been anything else on a title besides an admin and I’m starting to realize 6 of those 12 years was the best experience i had and loved bc it was a start up a lot of operational stuff for the business supporting staff.. I’m going to work toward operation but don’t have a degree so need to figure out and take some courses certification idk but i truly appreciate your comments your giving me clarity i needed

Random question for anyone who has ever exchanged/gotten a replacement away travel suitcase. Is there any flexibility to get a different color? My interior zipper broke and I stopped in a store to ask if they do repairs and they said to bring it in and they’ll just replace it. I wouldn’t hate switching the color but feel weird asking for some reason

Any resume writer referrals? I’m trying to make the jump into project management. I have 13YOE managing cross-departmental projects and people, and I’d like to shed the general EA work of calendars/travel/expenses. But recruiters just see my most recent role is EA and that’s all they want to talk to me about. I’m hoping a better written resume will help target algorithms to get my resume viewed for other roles.

I've been interviewing with some companies, and now I have to decide between JPMorgan Chase and Globant.

Globant is more innovative, and has remote work. I will enter to work with a Sillicon Valley startup based in San Francisco. The tech stack is React, Nextjs, AWS, and a serverless architecture.

JPM is semi remote, and less innovative. The tech stack Java, SpringBoot and AWS. But I'd do more migration tasks, like dockerize projects and pass them to kubernetes. What would you choose?
