Anyone else contemplating a move away from this industry? I'm just in autopilot every day and I have no joy left in it. But I also don't know what makes sense for me next.

I am trying to move departments within the industry. I work at a civil engineering company who does work for BiG A tech companies in the architecture department and I’m taking up OSHA and project management because that sounds more interesting to me. This way I can switch over to the client side asap.

Not me personally, but I have heard this from a number of people

With daily meditation and prayer, answers might come to you… architecture is a tough industry, but it should come down to where God wants you to be

I decided to stay in the industry, but move to a sales role. Sales is tough, but so are the hours and pay of a traditional role as architect or interior designer. Explore options before leaving entirely is my recommendation! Best of luck!

Working through the details of a transition to a private companies in house Architect/Project Manager/Owner Representative. It's going to suck leaving my firm but the opportunity will take care of my family better than I will ever be able to if I stay.

While I’m no Architect, I did exactly this after 23 years in Architecture. I still do side work for residential architectural projects but went to the precast concrete industry. I like the balance of my current employment.

Hi Designers,
Been working as an Assistant Technician for 3 years (2 years excluding pandemic) pay is £21k now £22 adjusted for inflation. I will be completing my Part 1 in architecture but also have a degree in Technology, should I find a different company after graduation or take roles offering £30-45k as an Architectural Technologist/Technician.
