I am trying to move departments within the industry. I work at a civil engineering company who does work for BiG A tech companies in the architecture department and I’m taking up OSHA and project management because that sounds more interesting to me. This way I can switch over to the client side asap.

I decided to stay in the industry, but move to a sales role. Sales is tough, but so are the hours and pay of a traditional role as architect or interior designer. Explore options before leaving entirely is my recommendation! Best of luck!
Working through the details of a transition to a private companies in house Architect/Project Manager/Owner Representative. It's going to suck leaving my firm but the opportunity will take care of my family better than I will ever be able to if I stay.
While I’m no Architect, I did exactly this after 23 years in Architecture. I still do side work for residential architectural projects but went to the precast concrete industry. I like the balance of my current employment.
