Floaters can be a serious sign of retina detachment. Go see a doctor ASAP
I have gotten floaters from eye strain but never ones that get progressively worse. They always go away. Go back to the dr or get a second opinion - Don’t risk anything with your eyes!
Did you see your regular doctor or an optometrist?
I had progressively worsening floaters that seemed to be caused from excessive drinking. I quit drinking and it’s gotten 90% better. I think there are some other diet items that can impact it for me too, like too much sugar.
I went to an optometrist though and they had the right equipment to look in and through your eye. I probably wouldn’t risk my sight...
Yeah I got bad eye floaters. Frustrating when I stare at a screen or when I worked at a client that had white desks and walls everywhere! Working on trying not to stress over them though. How are you doing op?
I am sorry for you as well! In my case it stopped worsening and I am now getting used to it. My doctor said it will eventually go away but it will take a long time (he wasn’t able to specify further haha). Hope yours are getting better too!
I’d go back to the doc! And if you’re worried about too much screen time invest in some blue light glasses. I got a pair and they really helped
Depending on the type of floaters they could actually be neurological/migraine/inflammation related and not technically an eye problem that an eye doctor would be able to detect/help with. (Assuming you’re under 60 retina detachment is very unlikely.). Google migraine aura symptoms and see if you notice anything else on the same days you get the floaters. I get photopsia (small circle of light that starts at bottom corners of eyes and moves up to top corners), then nauseous, then have such extreme light sensitivity I can’t look at a computer screen or any bright light. Took forever to figure out this is is a migraine aura bc I don’t always get a headache.
My friend has been dealing with this and just saw an optometrist last week. She’s a nurse and is still very concerned on what triggers it, so she is going to see a retinal specialist. From what we’ve looked up it’s more common in people 50 and over and retinal detachment is more common in people 80 and over. Another friend had retinal detachment when he was in high school which is very rare, but extremely scary.
