Your feelings are def valid. I think biologically/chemically, that feeling is also from a crash of dopamine and other neurotransmitters that have been firing, gearing up for trial but then all of a sudden, there’s no trial and thus no outlet for all those emotions/feelings/neurotransmitters/energy !
It’s more like being told you got silver or bronze without getting to race.
Eh, a little. But more often it’s relief. Like being told on mile 20 of a marathon “actually, you are good, the race is over and you won.”
Fantastic on the plaintiffs side
Honestly, no. Its a great way to hit your billables without having to do the most stressful part 🤣
I worked for a partner who was a total chicken and would settle for way more than was good for the client the day before, just so he didn’t have to do the trial or the arbitration. He didn’t care because it wasn’t his money and would spend most of the representation dooming/glooming the client and pestering them to spend more to settle than any sane person should given the strength of the case. I had slam dunk cases I prepared and he’d settle even if it meant the employee got to stay working though a major risk to the employer (e.g., 4 times the legal limit where the job involved driving all day and climbing tall objects, an employee on camera stealing after hours, etc.) It was a joke.
Par for the course unfortunately. Most cases settle before trial. Though I admit it is a major bummer when it settles on the day of trial.
Lol yeah. Like, don't threaten me with going to court. That's my favorite place to be. 😎
All those billables, lost…
Nope lol but I’m not a lawyer 😆 Another day another case goes on
I do 100%.
Of course!
