Just met the SVP randomly when I was picking up food, we started talking about cars and he gave me his contact info & said to reach out. This is common. I've been ghosted mid interview because they gave it to an internal candidate.
I've been to many last rounds just to get rejected. Exhausting.
I am starting to hold a grudge against employers who are poor at communicating expectations. Not writing back after an interview is sickening.
They don't owe you anything. There was probably something that edged you out e.g. another candidate, qualifications/experience, eq/interview protocol, or they weren't hiring at all, etc.
I've been to interviews where companies seemed proud about their hiring standards (low % make it through certain stages, difficulty, etc.)
Some companies told me I was the only one to make it to the end. I even got tours of the facilities. Still rejected.
Other companies are "always hiring" to make it seem they are a growing and successful company.
A few are low key sleezy and ask you to come up with ideas so they get free advice/information.
Whatever the reason, keep your head up.
Use the experience to improve EQ and presentability.
They do owe common decency. It also reflects poorly on them as a company.
I bailed before it got that far.
where at
I honestly think they’re not hiring, they just want to seem like they’re growing or something. Pretty bad that they’re wasting really talented creatives time maybe they don’t care about their reputation
Honestly the whole deal sounds weird to me
I went 8 rounds with an agency several years ago and got ghosted for “cultural fit.”
