Anyone else getting stuck in generalist work as an ERP consultant?

I was hired for my Workday expertise, but now we’ve got too many Workday folks on the bench, so I’m being pushed into generic strategy roles instead for utilization. It’s been years of being promised “hot” domains that immediately cool off and bounced across management consulting and strategy/ops work.

With AI eating into ERP delivery, is anyone actually hiring certified ERP talent anymore, or is this happening across firms?

Interested in a sustainability/ESG role.
Have extensive industry experience including with an ESG ratings provider and working with portfolio companies on assessing ESG risks and building reporting pathways with respect to multiple disclosure frameworks.

Interviewing at a dream company, and right from the first interview the recruiter told me we are way off on salary expectations. This was a little bit expected, as the role is requiring a few years less experience than I have and also in a much cheaper market. They already told me the salary range during this first call, but wondering if they like me enough and I get an offer, how I might approach negotiating for more. I would be making much less than I do now, but it is a dream company.

I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!

I have some collections on my credit report. One from an electric company for $800 (imo they violated terms of contract and sent me to collections in spite of their fuck up), and an apartment for $80~ that charged me a cleaning fee when my apartment was spotless.

Despite these two collections have a 712-720 credit score.

So mortgage lenders care at all about the collections or is it mostly the credit score that matters?
