Anyone else notice a pattern of juniors not circulating work product once they complete a task? I have noticed this in the past couple of years and it baffles me. As a supervising attorney, I’m left wondering about the status and have to chase them down only to be sent a completed document that they never circulated to anyone.

I am only 4 months into being a surgical coordinator. I love the position itself however I am struggling to adapt into my new work environment. I started working for a new law firm, much larger than the firm I was working for previously. The main attorney that I work under had noticed some mistakes I was making (I am a NY paralegal who took this position with the understanding that they’d be teaching me NJ and NYC real estate). Anyways, the attorney decided to tell the HR manager about the mistakes I had been making. Rather than HR discussing with me, the manager told my dramatic coworker to tell me..how should I handle this? Very hurt!

I’m currently a 2nd year associate in commercial finance. I’ve realized I don’t enjoy a a strictly transactional practice. I enjoyed litigation matters as a summer (particularly the adversarial nature). Also, love talking and advising clients. I don’t want the litigation lifestyle and appreciate the in-house opportunities of transactional. Assuming that I could switch (or lateral), I’m thinking I may enjoy employment (and the ability to defend and train/advise). I appreciate any insight.
