Anyone get ghosted by multiple interviewers at Perkins? 3 of the 11 people I was supposed to talk with didn’t show.

11? Lateraling seems like a pain. Those law school OCI interviews tho

like

Can't speak to the firm specifically and that's a lot, but it happens. Typically HR will find another body for you to chat with.

like

11 seems like a ton of people. Was it in one go?

like

Some were doubled up over 3 days

It’s ultimately HR’s fault but it can also mean that 8 of those who didn’t show up, were very likely in fact scheduled to interview you but pulled out/cancelled last minute. Tbh speaks to the culture a bit. All of them really couldnt take out 30 mins at most to interview a lateral?

like

That's so rude. If that's how they treat you when they're wooing you, must be pretty awesome to work there....

like

Most were doubled up but the last two both no showed

Honestly sounds like an HR goof up. But perfectly reasonable to ask about.

I’ve been at my clerkship for 5 years (4 with a different judge) and one with my current judge, and I heard horrible things about him before starting, but I assumed they were exaggerated. I’m trying to get out ASAP b/c he also has a history of firing clerks without cause or notice, but I think I’ll only be able to give two weeks notice if i get the job I’m interviewing for. Thoughts?

I applied for a lateral job in a growing group that doesn’t have associates yet. I talked to a sr. associate in a different office/group to get a better sense of the firm’s vibe and we both really enjoyed our call. He kindly offered to recommend an interview to HR. Is there anything else I can do? I would be switching practices altogether so I want to be as proactive as possible to know what I’m getting myself into (and make my app more favorable because I really want to break into the field).

Should I complain to a firm's HR if the interviewers laughed at my answer during an interview? Maybe it sounded scripted but it was still heartfelt and genuine: my immigration story and how that made me appreciate the rule of law. I said it soo many times during OCI's that maybe it eventually sounded robotic, but for the interviewers to laugh and one to say sarcastically "nice elevator pitch", I thought was rude. Thoughts?
