Come to CohnReznick. I left Big4 six years ago and we are even better today. Highly recommend.
Don’t go to Cohnreznick please, a waste of time
Here’s the deal. If you wanna be a salesman / saleswoman, go to mid tier. You will advance up the ranks faster and make partner sooner. They all basically just care about sales and care little to nothing about doing quality work. Anyone who says different (a) has not worked at mid tier, (b) doesn’t know what good quality is, (c) is a mid-tier salesman trying to con you or (d) is an anomaly working in the rare mid tier practice that does quality work. If you care about quality, you will HATE mid tier so much. You will wonder how they aren’t sued left and right for being bad at what they do. The answer: most of their clients with skeleton accounting and finance depts have no clue what good quality is either so they don’t realize they are getting ripped off.
9 years ago, they promised to give me an interview in college, and they never did. So screw em 🤪
Don’t let it go. Embrace it
Yeah don’t go to BT unless you want to be overworked and underpaid.
They kinda suck it’s same hours & they’re understaffed bc they aren’t paid well.
They all suck.. at least I can get a raise and title bump
BT is hit or miss very office dependent and the pay blows. Depending on the team it is very click-ish.
Seconded: "very click ish". It's hard for an outsider to get into the clique. Gave all shit jobs and shit clients.
Apply to GT!
Not being dramatic. Senior leadership sucks.
Happy to refer you to BDO if there is an opening.
I’ve had a good experience feel free to DM if you have questions
Been at BT for over a decade. Love it here. Audit, north east.
I’m at the Milwaukee office in audit and honestly I love it. Feel free to reach out!
I worked in Milwaukee office before. Just stay out of insurance / financial services. That is the worst group there.
I had a great experience at Baker Tilly fwiw.
I’ve heard from people that left and came to our firm if you aren’t a manager all your work is generally done on a pool basis so hardly any client communication
Maybe in tax, but not true in audit. We let the interns talk to clients when they're ready. Experienced associates and seniors are expected to do a lot of client communication.
It blows. There was a senior management shakeup and it has gone downhill.
Hahaha just don’t
What service line are you interested in?
Locality probably matters more than the specific firm, but public is just going to be rough in general. If you're miserable now you're better off looking into industry or government.
