Anyone here actually gotten a job by a recruiter?
I feel, they lure candidate in with the high salary and benefits and then make you jump through hoops only to never hear from them again.

The humorous part is when they ask for a school transcript. 💀

The market has changed so much in the past 5 to 10 years…. I have spent so much time providing references going on interviews, taking test, submitting writing, samples, etc. and then sometimes you don’t hear a word. I think that the market has particularly changed for those of us that are approaching or are in middle-age, with 20+ years of experience. I see this as an age group, where there is a lot of discrimination, and actually would be interested in any feedback on the topic. Thank you in advance.

I have gotten two jobs from recruiters. Stick with the ones that are no bullshit. If it seems like a red flag, it probably is.

I have but it was an in house recruiter. Best success I’ve ever had with them is when they work for the employer.

like

I feel you. It’s the same with me. They ask for your resume. References. Writing sample and once you give that all to them, crickets. 😑

like

I’ve been feeling the same sentiments!! I straight up told the recruiter it’s been ages since I’ve been in school so no, I don’t that handy

like

I have gotten a couple of jobs because a recruiter reached out to me. There are good ones and bad ones, but you can get opportunities that way.

I worked for a large recruiting firm when I first graduated college -- you are mostly just a number to them. I quit that job due to ethical and legal violations -- it was so fucking bad I switched careers to be in law.

Some can be good, but it's typically when you're making $40+ that you get the seasoned, good recruiters. If you're support staff in a non-niche field, you're just not getting as good quality recruiters.

I just started a new litigation paralegal job in Raleigh, NC that was secured with a recruiter.

I have gotten quiet a few jobs through recruiters.

Which one should I go for?

1. Oracle - 18.3 LPA fixed + probable bonus (I may or may not get)
2. Amadeus - 18 fixed + 1.5 variable.

Amadeus is also giving joining bonus of 75k. Amadeus is paying more, may give better hikes too, but I am finding it hard to let go off Oracle's brand name on my resume even if it's means around 2L less over an year. I am planning to work for atleast 3 years in my next company.

What would you have done in my place? Should I go for Oracle or Amadeus?
