Waiting to hear from Novartis on a job I interviewed for 2 weeks ago. They emailed me a Conflict of Interest Form to sign last week, which got me thinking an offer was coming but I'm still waiting. Thoughts on whether this form means anything? I daydream about quitting my current toxic job :/

I currently work as a Contracted Software Engineer and I’m set to finish my contracted time at the end of October. To stay ahead of game I started to move forward in the interview process with another opportunity as an Application Software Programmer and just received notification that I got the position. I’ve been at my company for 10+ years. I’m not happy with the culture but have flexibility I enjoy, seniority for the time I’ve been here, and pays well. An new job opportunity came up as a Tax Manager but in a different industry which could expand my skillset in different ways, but is not as flexible and the pay is 20k lower. Got an offer from a big bank’s operation department (fund reporting analyst), currently at EY faas and I’m not happy here, should I stick it out here until I get promotion or jump now? The salary offered is about the same I get now ( a few K higher). but I’m worried about flexibility (not as many vacations, promotions) if I jump to industry :(

I hate to see good people go because of money. Why don't the firms just pay them more? It's almost impossible to find new replacement managers and so it would be worth it to pay up.
