Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!
Hi there. Ex Deloitte Sr Mgr here, currently in tech pre sales (SaaS / MarTech). Recently spoke to both Salesforce and Adobe recruiters for roles that I thought were lateral moves (Sr SA / Sr SC), therefore I did not proceed with the selection process. The recruiters from both companies told me they typically hire at that level, and people are considered for promotion to Principal in 1 to 2 years. I found that odd. Is that right? What’s the typical TC for SAs and SCs there? (15+ yrs exp).

Hire a probate lawyer. Assuming you are opening as a creditor? Seriously, do it right and with an attorney who does that work in the county.
Check the local court /county website, usually have the basic forms and instruction..
Call the county register of wills and ask what they need. What county?
Procedures vary by county. As others noted, check the local rules and call the local Register of Wills for guidance. Most are helpful.
I had a case like this a few years ago. The defendant moved out of the country several days after the accident and mysteriously died. It took a lot of sleuthing to get the estate opened so we could file suit, and I had to learn a bit of German in the process, but it is possible.
Check to see if there is any “stealth” statute of limitations on opening an estate. Where I practice, there’s a six year SOL on most negligence claims, but an estate needs to be opened within two years after the death of the decedent.
You might also benefit from a private investigator. They should be able to track down potential heirs and other information that you’ll need to get the ball rolling.
