Preferably with good work life balance (I’m feeling burnt out in addition to wanting to wfh). Would take a pay cut and am fine with boutiques, whatever. Does anyone have ideas on how to navigate a smaller team environment when everyone’s roles seem to be stretched (hiring for additional people has been taking a while, not sure why). The stress causes some tension and that’s probably not great for the overall morale of the company long-term. I try to ignore and just stay focused on what I need to do yet sometimes proves challenging. I worry it might affect my professional/career growth. Thoughts on this would be helpful, thanks!

930-11 : look for a new job
11-2 lunch and nap
2-3 : sometimes meetings, mostly begging people for billable work
3-4:30 - proposal work if I have it or more job hunting
5-9pm family time and dinner
10-3am - netflix, videogames, cry myself to sleep

Should I continue to live at my parents house in the Midwest as things start to open back up or move back to my assigned office city on the east coast? I have an interview for an in house position (only attorney) at a small non-profit focused on conservation easements. I am a transactional associate at a mid sized law firm. The prospect of freedom from the billable hour and contributing to meaningful work are the draws. The cons are that while the salary at the non-profit would only be slightly less than what I am making now, pay increases and opportunities for advancement will be much less than where I am now. Thoughts on making the shift?

Anyone work for the USPTO as an Attorney Advisor? How is it?

I accepted a job offer in April to start a few months from now, post clerkship. All conflicts/background check went smoothly etc. Since accepting my offer, the firm has increased their 1st year pay across the board to be higher than my offer was (which was, at the time, what 2nd yeas got). When should I reach out to the recruitment attorney leading up to my start date? Or should I? (Haven't spoken since May) Should I bring up the salary or just assume its higher?
