Lol if you want better pay you may want to go somewhere other than Baker Tilly the pay is a joke here
Moved to BT from a different firm and absolutely love it at the Boston office. Team is great. Pay was great when I first joined, but the market's changed a lot the past 6 months, so I'll have to see since pay is being updated later this month.
Take my experience with a grain of salt... I'm also being promoted to Senior this upcoming August, non-CPA, and aiming for 80 range. I work with different teams in off season, but definitely enjoy my overall group of people. Take a leap if you're able and interested, but not for the sake of more money. The work is what it is.
I havent heard of people going to BT, if interested in GT DM me. Competitive pay, definitely better clients than BT that will give you exposure to international, PE backed and public companies in upper middle market. We are staying hybrid and pretty much can do wfh almost all the time. But come in for training and social which is what you really need to be successful.
As someone who made a lateral move from BT to PWC and got a big raise I would not say the pay is a huge factor. I would recommend vetting the team you are interested in as much as possible to see if the work environment is right for you. Ultimately, the people were the reason I left. Benefits were decent.
Get your promotion then leave. Even if you take a lateral, it is very important on your resume to show that you were successful at each job. A promotion is the easiest way to do that,
I interviewed there and they stopped the process due to pay requirements. I didn’t even ask for that much….
