Anyone working in TRS at PwC? Do you enjoy? Wanted to know the approximate salary for Senior Associate level (all 3 levels)? And how much do you think travel is required at that level?

I was in TRS for a year and recently transferred to another group for personal reason. I loved my coworkers in TRS and the work is challenging but fun. TRS overall group culture is something I consider much better than an average group in PA. I was an experienced senior when I left and my salary was in the 80’s so I would say standard tax salary. Travel is really depending on your clients. There were team members that were traveling every week pre-covid and whereas there were people that worked from home most days of the week.

PwC1 you gonna refer or what? There’s money on the table there.

I think OP might already have the connection but always willing to help 😂. The extra money is always nice.

How long generally it takes to hear back the feedback or response from the recruiters on Final selections, any idea?

For those in international tax planning, curious what you all think about the future in light of Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 (on top of beps measures like anti-hybrid rules, interest deduction limitations, etc.). Once companies adapt to the new regime(s) and assuming p1 and p2 are implemented broadly across jurisdictions, curious what type of planning/restructuring work will be of interest to clients post implementation. Short term I assume lots of planning work but curious on post-implementation

It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?

Compliance question here, I have always thought of the SALT deduction on the fed return as a perm item & have treated as such in such sch M-3. I see that some people put it as a temp on sch M-3. What is the justification for treating it as a temp on the M-3. You don’t set up a deferred on the def RF for the state tax deduct & it is also a rate impacting item (I know that some temps can be rate impacting). But this all leaves me to side with perm. Does anyone know the logic behind temp treatment?
