Applying to Deloitte as a Senior Consultant with a little over a year of experience - is this a reach? What is the typical experience level for a consultant & senior consultant?

Yes definitely a reach. Anyone with one year experience I’ve seen comes in as Analyst.

I see I see—so go ahead and apply as SC; Deloitte will be quick to realign you as a C if that’s what they feel like. You just don’t want applying as a C to mean you wind up as an A so might as well go for SC 🤷🏻‍♀️

Continued- I am a senior consultant at my current company (early promotion due to high performance). Would I be better off applying as a consultant level?

like

The typical experience level is ~2 years as analyst and ~2 years as consultant to get to SC so it’s not really a junior role. SCs are expected to manage large workstreams and be able to manage entire projects in some cases (e.g., some projects are staffed with a Senior Manager providing guidance and a SC running the show). SCs are really treated as assistant managers and have people management responsibilities in many cases for more junior staff on the project.

Keep in mind if you’re applying to advisory that would certainly be within reach (no analyst level). HR will level you no matter what

I recently asked a recruited from Deloitte that I’ve been talking to this exact question. He said when hiring externally they typically look for 4-5 years experience for SC. Currently a SC at ey, but with just over two years. He said they don’t typically put too much stock in titles at your current company

My wife is in sales at Mercedes and she has been averaging $200k a year and growing YoY. She loves her job, however she works long days and barely gets time off. We plan on having kids within the next year or two, and it’s highly u likely that she’ll be able to keep her current gig. We want to find a career that allows her to work remote or that at least gives her a better work life balance so that she can see her kids grow up. Should she get certifications to give her a shot at adtech?Too late?

Need some Advice.. I’m a professional MBA student that was working FT and used an PM internship to transition into the space. I stepped in for an actual PM who was on leave and was doing real work. In august they extended my internship to Nov. Yesterday, They offer me a FT APM role, but it starts July 10 and have to respond by 10/15. Internship still ends in Nov, so no employment for 7 months. I’m not too happy with the offer or the wait. What should I do? I am currently job searching.

Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

I’m hoping someone might have some ideas about this- I’m currently five years out of law school with a clerkship, a tax LLM, 3 years of experience doing transactional tax work and a few months of EC/VC experience (which I recently switched to from tax). I like the EC/VC work, but I don’t know how long I want to stay in biglaw. Can anyone weigh in on how employers for in-house roles might look at my experience in a year or two?

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB. I’m very interested in the opportunity but also don’t want to make a poor financial decision early in my career. Thank you for your time!
