Had to do it! Oldie but it sums it up🤣

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Lol most people I know in tech would rather drive for Uber first than take up a role in consulting. In fact they might do both where consulting would be a side hustle 😂
Ok ok I get it 😆
Even if I did this - it would only be to cash a paycheck while I continue interviewing for tech roles lol
there's a reason why big tech is an exit from consulting, and not the reverse
Lol. No.
Absolutely! DM :)
I sure hope they don’t… I made this terrible mistake lol
Yup! I was naive and after the first month I knew it was a bad decision lol

There may be a small number who boomerang or take a role as a temporary solution, but consulting becoming the exit for tech is unlikely. If they choose consulting, they will probably work for themselves or create something new.
Depends how deep this drop off is and how focused it stays on overvalued tech
No.
