Are we Great yet? Did any of you honestly vote for this clown? And if so, do you regret it?

A lot of Partners I know are intelligent, high EQ and consider a lot when making decisions. That said, the “new” conservative voice presence online in forums like this and the media has slanted so much - people made decisions opposite to how they normally would because they have not yet been personally affected.

Personally, I tend to vote for leaders who are not narcissistic sexual offenders with a track record of failed businesses. But then when I mention this I get accused of TDS and everything breaks down.

We all need to spend more time talking to each other in person than online.

How do you know peoples vote for certain?

Feel like this is better suited for other bowls……

Why? Almost every partner I know voted for Trump and said it was a net win for the business when he won the election. They’re also dug in on the “long game” of tariffs

I’m prepping someone’s tax return who I see everyday on tv. It’s kind of cool being privy to a celebrity’s confidential financial information. 😁 I’ve also prepped a famous athlete and actor last week.

Having thoughts about leaving Tax for a smaller Co that specializes in SALT credits and incentives... but could this limit me down the road experience wise if I decided to leave there? I have a diverse experience now, but I don’t want to be looked at as only SALT later.

People that have small children - how do you deal with your child’s stress and separation anxiety when you go to work? My 4-year old goes berserk almost every day at some point relating to me having to work. The worst part is that I’ve been working from home bc of Covid and I’m literally just walking upstairs after giving hugs and kisses and saying see you soon 800 times. My spouse is a stay at home parent, but that doesn’t seem to matter to my son. A piece of me dies everyday because of this.

Perspective: monogamy is anti-human nature; in this era where each parent could raise a kid independently, marriage tends to be a shackle on many aspects of life. We live once, why does society expect us to live with 1 person for 60+ years? No wonder divorce rates are through the roof!

At some Big 4 companies there is a Partner / Principal group that has equity and are part owners of the business and an equivalent Managing Director group that does not have equity and are essentially employees.

If an employee files a complaint about workplace behavior, do you treat them differently? I'm faced with reporting an SM for bullying and finding it near imposible to believe that it won't (cont'd)

I've heard a couple of things about how the partner pension amount @ PwC is determined, both similar in approach.

Both calculations I have heard of result in an annuity paid until death, at which point a surviving spouse (if any) receives the annuity.

The first calculation I have heard is that you get 80% of your highest earning year as a partner (e.g. If your best year was $1M, you'd get $800k as an annuity).

The second calculation I have heard is that they look at your three highest earning years as a partner, and take the second highest and you get 100% of that. (e.g if your three highest earning years were $1M, $800k, and $1.2M, you'd receive $1M as an annuity).

Is ANY of this true, or just all rumor? Any PwC partners that can chime in and explain the pension plan fact for fact? Perhaps with sample numbers?
