I am moving to Charlotte, NC for a new job. I currently live in Portland, OR and have a single family home here. With my income, and current mortgage, I can afford a 350k house I’m Charlotte with about 10% down. What are the pros and cons of buying a new place in Charlotte and then sell my house in Portland?

Can I move to Florida the month my bonus hits and not pay any NY State tax on it? Or would I just declare that 1/12 of the year I was in Florida and get the pro-rated refund from NYS on my overall Pay

After figuring out FI/RE I am less motivated.

I maxed out my Roth IRA contribution thinking I'd be safe from the income limits however my wife brought way too much $$$ than anticipated this year. It's a good problem to have but not sure what I need to do with my Roth IRA for the year 2021. Impossible to get a hold of Merrill to discuss options.

If I have two 401ks (current job and previous job), does the 19k limit apply to both of them together or 19k each?

If I were to rollover a pension lump sum into one of those 401ks, is counted towards the $19k limit? Or is rollover classified differently and I could still continue to contribute to my current 401k?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. I’m 25 and have found a duplex I’m considering purchasing as a rental property. Planning on renting both units and have the cash to make the down payment without an issue. My cash flow analysis has a payback period of 3 years for my down payment and a 13 year payback period for the whole investment. I think financially it makes sense. My question is, is it realistic for a 25 year old young professional to handle dealing with all the extra curricular’s that come with owning a rental property ?
