What is the real deal across MBB, Tier 2, Big4?

Do you always need an MBA to get into MBB?
Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

Bain & Company I’m from Italy and will start my master’s degree at Oxbridge this fall. I got my undergrad from a target uni in continental Europe. I want to start my career in consulting, possibly MBB, in London. I know consulting firms tend to hire locally but I’d really like to work in London and that’s also one of the main reasons why I went for the Oxbridge degree. Anyone, who might have some tips, or went through a similar experience? McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company

Also top state schools like GA Tech, University of Michigan, UVA, etc. They don’t give quite as many interviews as some of the schools BCG1 listed so you have to fight a little harder for your spot
You can get there just about from anywhere as long as you're the top.
I went to University of Georgia and bunch of people I know went to McKinsey and BCG out of undergrad.
I think this is technically true but not feasible for most cases. It is worth trying to network to a referral but also good to have solid grasp on companies that actually partake in active recruiting at your school to give you a better idea of success odds
We recruit on campus at ivies + ivy-caliber schools (Stanford, Northwestern, etc.) + top state schools (UVA, UT Austin, etc.)
Not Michigan though - yet 😉
If you have time, you can actually see the list from these companies career website. They often list where and when they have company presentations
Usually the ivies + top national colleges that are not ivies (Stanford, duke, etc) will have pretty robust recruiting teams. Smaller and regional schools might be covered by the nearest office. She can also try to directly contact recruiting for the city she is interested in (having an internal referral helps in these cases).
We recruit at a lot of colleges so it’s tough to rattle off a list. The closest office is typically responsible for recruiting UGs from the school. Try to find a recruiter on LinkedIn in the same city or the next closest office and go from there
For my firm, I think some of the major recruiting grounds (in addition to Ivyies) are Boston College, Georgetown, UCLA
