Hi everyone. A PDM specialist here. Joined Deloitte 5+ years back as ‘Senior Solution Engineer -On-site’.Later in June 2017 all these ‘on-site’ folks got rebranded as PDM. Slowly started to realize how PDM is getting sidelined as a ‘discountable’ group. Sometimes I feel contract jobs are better than being at PDM , but obviously tied up with D for visa related issues. No career progression so far and don’t see any positive changes in the near future as well.I think it’s high time to call it a day.

I cleared 1 technical round. Then got call from MasterCard HR he said 38 LPA is max budget for specialist( Level 7) at MasterCard,if you are ok then will go ahead? Is it true ? I am expecting 45 LPA fixed from MasterCard. I requested to consider for lead role if budget is issue. As my experience is 12 years but hr told 13+ experience required for lead. Is it true ? How much experience required for L6 (lead / individual contributor role ) ? How much is salary range for L6 role at Mastercard ?

It may sound silly, but it was in the portfolio review bowl. I posted by book and several people were like “Why did you post this, it’s obviously great. What are you looking for, publicity or something?”
I have no awards, and haven’t worked for any well-known agencies. But that made me realize my book was good enough to strike out on my own as freelance.
This gives me hope :’)
When I was a college senior I had a conversation with a mentor, and they asked me my dream so I told them: to make a Super Bowl spot. They laughed at me.
7 years later, my first Super Bowl spot aired during the third quarter. I hope he was watching.
That’s when I knew.

When agencies from other countries started trying to hire me. As a Canadian, that was a big deal.
Bet your butt I moved.
When you accidentally open your old portfolio and see how far you have come. For me it wasn’t a specific award or a SB spot, but seeing how bad I was and how I ended up well.
Nice!

Every time I get promoted. For about two days.
First time I got to produce something with over a 2M budget. Crazy to see the amount of people working to make an idea I had. And when Good Morning America did a segment on one of my ads, that was rad.
Making 100k. Knew that amount would eliminate a certain level of financial worry and unlock more of what I wanted to do and think about.

When I got my first job at DDB. I hadn’t graduated college yet and interned there between my junior and senior year. They hired me as an Art Director full-time before my senior year and paid for me to finish college at SVA. I sent my mom my business card and a thank you letter. I was so excited. Second time I did that is when I became a VP a few years later. Even when I became SVP Global Creative Director and an ECD, it still doesn’t come close to the excitement that I had getting hired as an AD before graduation.
Mine has not been a linear career so it took me 23 years. My contemporaries who did it in a linear way were there in around 15-20 depending on their star power.
