Bain’s recent survey of 102 senior finance executives found that at least half expect headcount reductions across finance functions including FP&A, tax, treasury, and purchasing. Personally, I’m surprised the numbers weren’t higher. Many of these roles are highly repetitive and increasingly vulnerable as companies look to justify major AI investments. How does underwriting compare to PIP litigation in terms of flex time (ability to stop/start work throughout day, work at 2 am if needed, etc)
