Cg has offered to match upto 23.5 lakhs.. Is it worth moving to TCS on this grade? My primary reason for moving out of Cg is i m bored of beauocracy and WLB at current project. Is it a good idea to still switch with the counter offer from Cg Capgemini Tata Consu

Know a few people in BCG South who had an MPH or had deep healthcare experience pre-MBA, and wanted to do payer /provider work, and all of them found it extremely hard and a frustrating venture. They spent most of their time in other industries, despite their backgrounds and continuous networking. They all eventually left… to payers or providers so they could do what they enjoy.
If healthcare is what you most want to do, then I’d go to a firm where you can align to an industry sector from the start, rather than BCG. Also, BCG is an extremely toxic environment for lateral hires. You’ll get last pick of projects so even less chance of doing what you want, and will be treated as inferior by the rest of BCG who are campus hires. I can speak from experience. Wouldn’t recommend you join given the cards will be heavily stacked against you.

Dang I really appreciate the insight!! This seems to be an issue that I’d definitely run into them. Will definitely keep this in my mind if I end up getting to the offer, definitely love my job now so I’m not 100% willing to jump to BCG for the sake of BCG especially after hearing about the above. Thanks again, really appreciate it!

When I think of South I think of energy and CPG. That said I believe you should get able to get onto healthcare cases - maybe not at first, and maybe not every case you’re on, but eventually

Would it just be networking with the healthcare partners and case teams? Totally okay with not always being on healthcare but definitely would prefer more healthcare than not.
Lots of payer provider work in the south

That’s good to hear!
I am a C in the south with a healthcare background and do such cases. It is not as easy so I’d caution against it. Yes doable with heavy networking and a little luck, but many hoops to jump through.

I’m definitely a payer provider type of person so glad to hear there are some in the south. Thanks!
