A new aloft is open in june. Earliest bookable date right now is sep at $390 for 1 king
Le medrien fifth ave is also new at $400ish
Midtowns gross, try westlight or Williamsburg water tower
(Assuming a work stay - no reason to stay in midtown otherwise)
I love the archer- although last time I stayed there was pre-covid
Some nicer new Hyatts- the Grayson just open but it’s Bryant park, and the new Thompson’s like Gild Hall or Hotel Bowery while not midtown are nice.
I typically stay at the courtyard marriott near Hudson Yards
It’s not midtown but I’ve become loyal to the Hyatt Centric Wall Street. It used to be an Andaz so rooms are much higher spec (and larger) than what a Hyatt
Centric would normally have. There are 4 610 sqft corner suites on each floor and I always get upgraded to one as a globalist. You can often find rates between $180 and $260. Closer to midtown, I think the Grayson, Park South, and, with a good corporate rate, Chatwal are good.
The Grayson on 39th
Residence Inn on Broadway is one of newer and is decent. The newly renovated rooms at the Hilton Midtown are actually nice (but it’s a crapshoot if you get one). Westin Times Square has above average rooms…not perfect but they’re large for NYC…immediate location isn’t great but it’s convenient to other spots.
