Hi Fishes
I would like to know about the client interviews (especially in data science or machine learning roles).
Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.
I am thankful to you for taking time and helping me out.
Nagarro

Best consulting firms without the massive ego?

My wife started as an M at Accenture earlier this year coming from industry. I’ve never worked at Accenture or any b4, but I had to explain to her how up or out works. She also didn’t know that she came in with 24 months at level and what that meant. Really surprised none of this was communicated during hiring or by her manager.

Everyone at B4 is from non-target schools

LinkedIn > lookup a Big 4> go to the people page > filter for your school > send messages asking for 15 minute chat > ask how they got to the B4 > end call asking about specific position you are looking at
This! People are generally willing to help. I also recommend if there are any local target schools with events to see if they might let you join. We had a public university that we had as a target that would let some of the local schools and community college students go to the accounting events. A lot of times taking to the professionals directly can get you in better than talking to a recruiter. It shows you have initiative and you are actually interested in the firm instead of just going through the motions. The earlier you start the better because there are often summer events they want you to apply by February and then some areas are wrapping up recruiting now for interns this coming summer and the next summer!

Go to recruiting events and get help with your resume from your university’s career center
Spend a few years in industry and come in as an EH consultant/whatever the equivalent is at the others. Thats what ended up happening with me anyways coming from a school noones heard of. Theres a good chance you'd come in with a slightly higher comp than the homegrown as well.
