Big 4 fish, how do you handle independence reporting for your bf/gf? My bf works at a big 4 firm as a consultant (not audit) and from their vague definition, I qualify as a "spousal equivalent." He's always worried that he could theoretically get fired if he didn't report me and they found out about our relationship, but we definitely don't want to go through the process, especially considering I'd have to sell most of my stocks as they're restricted. M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.
