any telltale signs of layoffs in tiger?
Do we really have lay offs happening in zs ?
I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?
Larsen & Toubro Infotech Is it good time to join Cognizant now for Coimbatore location considering too much attrition in recent times along with many policy changes and do they have enough projects or will there be any chance of layoffs if we don't find any projects for our skill(Tableau in my case)? I have another offer with LTI, Coimbatore for same salary but i prefer CTS more than LNT. Cognizant Larsen & Toubro Infotech

We are hiring, though it’s really in the decarb, climate resilience and risk strategy space; a lot of our senior level roles are mostly referral based and don’t get posted.
MBB are likely to have consultants that have a passion for sustainability specialise on topics such as decarbonization etc so likely to not have the need to hire externally. BCG also acquired Quantis and I believe McK acquired a climate risk intelligence company. Most of the work is done in Europe too.
Yes, that’s what I’ve experienced when working with them. The Knowledge Analysts aren’t client facing but the consultants will mention their research and insights.
OP self-identified the trend. We are indeed still hiring in what OP refers to as niche areas but that's really where things are headed. The time for generalists is over - clients are either hiring those people directly or training up their staff to serve that function (I've seen more of the latter, for better or worse). If you want to be in sustainability consulting, you better bring a skillset that is niche enough that a client can't justify the cost of an FTE but needed enough that multiple clients need it.
This is not true in my experience. I am a generalist and able to move across multiple industries, company types and areas of expertise. This means I can shift to serve basically whatever we need which is extremely valuable. That is the trend I see not just in sustainability but in corporate as a whole. Companies want people who are flexible, adaptable, and able to cover a lot of different things. Tends to be more cost effective than hiring people who are only experts in one thing.
MBB has had massive cuts/forced attrition over the last few months. Wouldn't count on an upswing in hiring anytime soon. Not sure about big 4
Seen openings at Accenture, PwC, EY and then at the smaller firms. Where are you looking?
I guess I should have been more precise. I saw some, but only focused on assurance or other niche areas (such as sap), rather than general strategy & implementation.
