Just to be clear, you’re choosing between an economy seat with extra legroom and a lie flat business class seat with plated meals. Obviously United wins
United by far. You’re talking about a typical economy experience or a business class experience from hub to hub.
Wtf is google doing here?
Delta > United, American, etc.
OP just exposed Skypesos for the sham they are
Homebody. Plz. You’re literally trying to compare business class to economy. Let’s break down the rules for you:
All else equal and normal conditions:
1) Delta>American>United (American EP here)
2) Delta comfort+>any short haul regional first class
3) Airline with a hub near you>airline with no hub near you
Shitty weather:
American>Delta>United
NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS:
Business class trans con>Economy ANY DAY
EY2 is so wrong Newark has is WAY easier than JFK, especially when going to the west side. It's even beats the shitzaster than LGA lately in terms of actually getting a taxi or uber IME
#firstworldproblems #humblebrags - good one OP
United Polaris for sure
^Thats what I thought, but I’m hearing good things about Delta C+ on transcon. But with United, I’d get to use United’s lounges at SFO and Newark, which are way better than priority pass
+1 to the United PS service from SFO/EWR
Even though AA sucks overall, I think their transcon lie-flat is a great product too (just used it to get to NY today so see you around Chelsea, OP)
Why would Business not be the answer 100% of the time?
This is a United Polaris route, which is fantastic. Like international first class
Caveat: some business class routes are shit (e.g., PHL-SFO where it's a marginal upgrade might not be worth the cost. Is the united BC cabin a lie flat?
Between the 752 and the 772 I would choose 752, as there’s a good risk you’d get UA’s 8 across J product, which isn’t very nice. If there’s a 773 doing SFO-EWR, spring for it...it is one of the few planes with the new Polaris seat
Should have Googled it OP.
Thoughts on which one would be a better transcontinental experience?
Depends how much time you have, buddy. EWR will add about an hour each way going to NY and you have higher risk of delay or being assulted and dragged off the plane. Seatwise, United business obviously wins but youd save 2 hours on delta.
All things equal, I would generally pick Delta over United every time. But this is not equal. Comfort plus is still economy
Have to agree with M1- EWR is simply less hassle to get to/from than LGA/JFK, especially with construction and traffic lately. Train>Cab for sure. And, Newark is a United hub...
